I apologize ahead of time, but I'm claiming being a first time parent, so this will be picture overload! :) Here are some things we've been up to this past month-ish:
1. Getting up early to watch an old train roll through town. We waited 45 minutes, only to discover that the train was delayed another hour. So we went home, and then Sam & his dad went to see the train an hour later (Patton was napping at that point).
2. Play dates! Woohoo! Emily & Luke came and visited us in early December. We did some much needed shopping (isn't shopping always needed though?! Haha), and we also went to the La Habra Children's Museum to do a play date with our friend Melinda and her cute boy Skylar. This picture is just proof that I still exist, since I'm always the one taking the pics.
Em and Luke outside the museum.
The museum was really cool because they had a baby room just filled with toys and baby stuff. It was nice just to let our babies play and not have to worry about them getting into stuff. I LOVE that this picture is the epitome of our play dates. . . all the kids are playing by themselves while the parents are sitting around visiting. I've realized that play dates are more for me than for Patton. LOL!

3. Trash day. Trash day is a very exciting day at our house. Whenever Patton hears the trash truck he crawls as fast as he can to the window to look at the truck. Then he just can't take his eyes off the truck until it has gone down our street. He is such a boy.

4. Looking at the Christmas lights at Thoroughbred Lane in Alta Loma. They have this gorgeous neighborhood in Alta Loma where they block off the street and just let everyone walk through and look at all the Christmas lights. The whole neighborhood is completely decked out! The news was even saying that the electricity bills during December on some of these houses is the same as their mortgages. It's crazy! The home owners even sell hot cocoa, churros, nachos, cookies, etc. It was so much fun! Patton was loving looking at all the Christmas lights.

5. Hanging out with his best friend Franklin the cat. Those two are inseparable. Patton loves to chase Franklin all the house and Franklin loves the attention. It's really quite funny to watch.
6. CHRISTMAS day! Yes Patton, 99.9% of those gifts are for you!
I think Patton looks like a G-thug in this picture. We train them well at the Evans household!
Patton didn't quite get the concept of Christmas or opening gifts, and I really wasn't expecting him too. He was pretty content eating the wrapping paper and playing with all the boxes though. Next year we're going to go cheap and only give him empty boxes to play with on Christmas morning. I wonder if he'll ever know the difference. . . probably not! Haha

Sam was so excited to get a stash of nuts from my brother Mike. I think next year I'll just buy Sam nuts instead of more expensive gifts. Hey, I may not have to spend much at all on Christmas next year! :)
After we opened our gifts in the morning, we went to church, and then headed down to Sam's parents house to open gifts. Patton got a cool wooden train set. He was having fun acting like Godzilla, tearing apart the train tracks and immediately eating them.
7. Sam actually had the Monday after Christmas off (which never happens), so we spent the day just hanging out. We even went for a walk around the neighborhood with Patton's new red wagon. We actually got it at one of Patton's baby showers, but he's been too little for it. Now it's just perfect for him. He had a blast looking all around the neighborhood.
8. We didn't really do much for New Years. . .we just worked around the house and had fondue at Sam's parent's house on Saturday night. We didn't even stay up till midnight. I think we only made it till 10:30PM. Oh well.
Well, I think I'm finally caught up, for now! Hope everyone else has had a wonderful month and holiday season!

How fun! I love that he liked the wrapping paper and boxes more. I just can't believe how big he is. He is so darn cute.
