Too Funny!!!

Ok, I just found the FUNNIEST website! http://www.starzbunniestheater.com . It has excerpts from your favorite movies done in 30 seconds, and by bunnies! Holy cow, it's hillarious! The "Twilight" one is my favorite, with "Napoleon Dynamite" in a close second. I do have you warn you though. . . . if your favorite movie has certain cuss words in it, it'll have those words in the excerpt (as in the 16 Candles excerpt). Enjoy! I've had a blast going through and looking at all the movies. BTW-the picture above is of "A Christmas Story". Enjoy! :)!

A Random Week

Ok, this is seriously the BEST invention! Too bad they only make this in Japan! :(! I TOTALLY needed one of these this week! Well this past week I have come down with a NASTY cold! I can't seem to shake it! I've been pretty crabby with my students this week only because I felt so terrible. The good news is that I have a 4 day weekend (a teacher's schedule is AWESOME!). I'm hoping to get tons of rest and read my "New Moon" book (I'm sure I'll be done with it before the weekend's over).

Sam started up at school again. It was so nice having him home in the evenings! Alas, his month break is up and he's back into school. He only has 5 more classes to take until he can graduate. He's only taking one class this quarter only because they don't offer all the classes all the time. So we'll be patient and hopefully he'll be done soon.

My other love has come back to me. . . American Idol. This week has been the auditions and they are a RIOT to watch! I can't wait to see who makes it into the top 25! I can now successfully get through the rest of this school year now that American Idol is on again! Happy American Idol Season everyone! :)

Twas the Month After Christmas

T'was the month after Christmas, and all through the house,
Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse.
The cookies I'd nibbled, the chocolate I'd taste
At the holiday parties had gone to my waist.
When I got on the scales there arose such a number!
When I walked to the store (less a walk than a lumber),
I'd remember the marvelous meals I'd prepared;
The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rared,
The wine and the rum balls, the bread and the cheese
And the way I'd never said, "No thank you, please."
As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirt
And prepared once again to do battle with dirt...
I said to myself, as I only can,
"You can't spend a winter, disguised as a man!"
So, away with the last of the sour cream dip.
Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip.
Every last bit of food that I like must be banished
Till all the additional ounces have vanished.
I won't have a cookie, not even a lick.
I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick.
I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie.
I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry.
I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore...
But isn't that what January is for?
Unable to giggle, no longer a riot.
Happy New Year to all, and to all a good diet.

It's Not What you Think . . .

Ok, I can't stop laughing right now. I just found this pic on one of my teacher websites. This is a real pic from one of their students. The most hillarious part is that this girl's Mom works at Home Depot and she's selling shovels! :)! Oh the eyes of a child! It sure makes for a good laugh!

San Diego or Bust!

Last weekend Sam and I went and visited Matt & Em in San Diego. We LOVE San Diego (we're a little biased because we were married there! :) ). When Sam and I first arrived, we went to our favorite Greek restaurant were we bought some yummy zucchini fries (I'm drooling just thinking about them!). Then the four of us watched "Get Smart". It actually exceeded my expectations . . . it was a pretty funny movie!

On Saturday, we decided to hike Torrey Pines. It's a beautiful place which is a little mountainy, a little deserty, but it's located right by the beach. So we hiked around there (it was QUITE a hike to get to the top!) and then had fun taking some pics.

Em & Matt at the top of Torrey Pines

The views from the top were just gorgeous! It was pretty chilly that day, otherwise I might have jumped from the cliffs into the ocean. Ok, probably not because I'm a total chicken. . . but it looked a little tempting.

More gorgeous views

Sam loved all the erosion in the rocks. He kept saying, "Look at the cute erosion." Cute erosion? Sometimes I really worry about my husband. I think school has been getting to him! :)

After we hiked to the top, there was a trail that led right down to the beach. It was awesome!

So I usually don't like kissing pictures, but I thought that this one was tastefully cute! :). This is at the beach next to Torrey Pines in San Diego.

More beach pics.

We have this same pic from our wedding day....except we're in our wedding clothes and we're at the temple. How cute! I think I'm going to post that pic now that I'm thinking about it!

This is the wedding pic I was talking about. It's actually pretty similar. Perhaps I just wanted an excuse to post a wedding pic! :).

Another great beach pic.
After the beach, we went to this AWESOME Mexican food place! What San Diego trip would be complete without a Marcie & Emily shopping trip? So we left the boys (I think they were watching the Simpsons), while we did a bit of shopping (Bath & Body Works was having an AMAZING sale).
Next, we picked up the boys and we went to eat at PF Changs. Em and I LOVE that place! :). YUMMY! Then Matt & Em took us to this great dessert place called Extraordinary Desserts. We had so much fun gorging ourselves on cake! To complete our night, Em and I had to watch a girly movie (for old times sake!) . . . The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2.
The next day we went to church and then we went home. We LOVE visiting Matt & Em and of course we LOVE San Diego! We're hoping that once Sam's finished with school that we can visit more often! Until next time! :)

Holidays are for Spending Time with Those You Love. . . Part 2

6. Another of my favorite things that we did was going whale watching off Ventura by the Channel Islands on Tuesday, December 29th.
This is Sam and I awaiting for our adventure to begin! Can you feel the excitement in the air?! We had a fun time, but Sam had to spend some time at the back of the boat (Sea sickness. Eww!)

The dock right before we left the harbor.

Kyle and Amanda....how digustingly cute (I'm just kidding guys!)

Mom and Dad

Sam....you look a little on the cold side. Perhaps he's attempting to be a "homie".

We saw TONS of pods of dolphins on our way to the islands. They were SOOO cute! They would jump out of the air and chase our boat. I told Sam that I wanted one . . . but I think he was too busy at the back of the boat! :(.

Santa Cruz island (one of the Channel Islands)

Once we got to Santa Cruz island, we actually saw our whale! It was a pregnant gray whale on its way from Alaska to Mexico. It was such an amazing site to see. The gray whale was HUGE but so graceful! This is the hump of the whale.

Look Em....whale tail! Hahhaha!

We followed the whale for about 30 minutes, and then headed back to the harbor (it was still another 45 minutes just to get back to the harbor). We had such a great time going whale watching that we want to come back in the summer and find some humpback whales (Sam will take some medicine before we go!).

7. Pride and Prejudice. . . the 6 hour version. . . need I say more?!
Valerie came over New Years Eve day and we watched Pride and Prejudice on the big screen (take that Sam...and you thought the big screen was only for sports! Ha!). It was actually amazing to see it on the big screen because we could see more of the things in the background. It was awesome! Maybe next time I can recruit Sam to watch it with me! :)

-------------------------------------------------------------
8. Shopping with Jeremy and Valerie.
The day after New Years, Jeremy, Valerie, and I went shopping at Victoria Gardens (I LOVE that mall). We had fun hitting all the sales and then eating lunch at California Pizza Kitchen. Then we found out that they had a Pinkberry Frozen Yogurt store there. So we had to partake of its yummy goodness. It tasted like regular yogurt, but frozen (what a concept!). It was pretty good!

Well, this will conclude this section of the Christmas fun. I still have one more section to blog about...visiting Matt and Em in San Diego.

To be continued. . . again!
